The Client

An international investment management firm

The client and its affiliates serve as investment adviser to more than 450 separate and commingled institutional accounts and more than 80 stock, bond, and money market funds.

The Challenge

The client's Retirement Plan group did not have a convenient interface or mechanism for reporting information for their internal 401k plans. Reporting data was gathered from multiple sources, and user reports were created through on-request batch mainframe processes. These report requests took as long as six hours to complete and deliver. When new reports were needed, the business users must rely on IT support due to the highly complex language required to write reports in the mainframe environment.

The Solution

A comprehensive and dynamic reporting environment was implemented, enabling business users to report financial data in a more-timely manner, decreasing their dependence on internal IT personnel and its associated cost, and providing greater flexibility to create ad hoc reports.

As part of this effort, Altek Solutions:
